East Central Energy, in partnership with the East Central Regional Development Commission, hosted an economic development conference on Wednesday, October 31st at the East Central Energy offices in Braham. Speakers at the event discussed topics relating to business assistance programs, including business financing and technical assistance. The keynote speaker was Terry Whipple of Juneau County (WI) Economic Development presenting on the Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club he created to connect inventors, entrepreneurs, investors, financiers and economic developers in an attempt to help grow the local business economy and create local jobs. Based on what was learned at this event, efforts are underway to create a similar organization in East Central Minnesota.
